Entry-level professional recognition for emerging social entrepreneurs.

ASE-LSSE recognises early-stage social entrepreneurs who can demonstrate social purpose, beneficiary awareness, ethical practice and a credible project, enterprise or community-impact direction.

What ASE-LSSE Means

Associate Social Entrepreneur — ASE-LSSE is the first assessed professional membership grade within the LSSE Society of Social Entrepreneurs.

It is designed for individuals who are moving beyond interest and beginning to define a serious social-impact idea, project, community initiative, nonprofit concept, CIC, charity, foundation or mission-led enterprise.

ASE-LSSE does not require applicants to have built a mature organisation. It recognises early-stage readiness, clarity of purpose and responsible commitment to social entrepreneurship.

Who Should Apply

ASE-LSSE is suitable for:

What You Must Evidence

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

The assessment focuses on readiness and foundation discipline, not organisational scale.

Assessment Requirement

ASE-LSSE assessment is based on:

Foundation Portfolio

A short evidence portfolio showing the applicant’s social purpose, project idea, beneficiary focus, stakeholder thinking and early development work.

Reflective Statement

A personal reflection explaining why the applicant is pursuing social entrepreneurship, what they have learned, what problem they want to address and how they intend to develop responsibly.

LSSE may also request clarification or additional evidence where required.

Recognition Outcome

Successful applicants may be admitted as Associate Social Entrepreneur members of the LSSE Society and may use the post-nominal:

ASE-LSSE

Use of the post-nominal is subject to LSSE Society rules, annual membership status, professional conduct and recognition guidance.

Important Distinction

  • ASE-LSSE is an assessed professional membership grade. It is not the same as Open Membership.
  • Open Membership gives access to the Society community.
  • ASE-LSSE gives entry-level professional recognition after evidence review and approval.
  • Completion of an LSSE programme may support an application, but it does not automatically award ASE-LSSE.

Progression Route

ASE-LSSE can support progression into:
