Continuing development for social entrepreneurs beyond membership.

The LSSE Society of Social Entrepreneurs provides members with continuing professional development, project clinics, peer learning, donor-readiness sessions, roundtables and recognition events designed to strengthen practice, visibility and long-term impact.

CPD Events

The Society will provide selected CPD events to support members’ continuing development in social enterprise, nonprofit innovation and public-value leadership.

CPD topics may include:

  • Social enterprise strategy
  • Fundraising and grant readiness
  • ESG execution
  • Impact measurement and reporting
  • Governance and accountability
  • Project design
  • Donor communication
  • Leadership and organisational sustainability
  • Ethical practice and responsible claims

CPD events may be delivered as webinars, workshops, short briefings, masterclasses or member-only learning sessions.

Project Clinics

Project Clinics are practical sessions designed to help members strengthen their ideas, projects, organisations or impact plans.

Depending on the membership calendar, clinics may support:

Project diagnosis

Theory of change development

Beneficiary and stakeholder mapping

Project budgeting

Donor-readiness review

Impact indicator design

Pitch preparation

Governance and risk review

Project Clinics are practical sessions designed to help members strengthen their ideas, projects, organisations or impact plans.

Depending on the membership calendar, clinics may support:

Peer Learning

The Society creates space for members to learn from each other.

Peer learning may include:

  • Small-group discussions
  • Member exchange sessions
  • Founder circles
  • Practice-sharing forums
  • Case study conversations
  • Peer review opportunities
  • Community problem-solving sessions

The purpose is to build a serious community of practice where members can learn from real experience, not only formal teaching.

Donor-Readiness Sessions

Members working on nonprofit, social enterprise or community projects may benefit from donor-readiness sessions.

These sessions may cover:

  • Case for support
  • Donor mapping
  • Grant calendar planning
  • Proposal structure
  • Budget logic
  • Funder communication
  • Reporting expectations
  • Evidence preparation

Donor-readiness sessions support better preparation. They do not guarantee donor approval, grant funding, investment or partnership.

Member Roundtables

Member Roundtables provide a more focused environment for discussion, reflection and leadership development.

Roundtables may be organised around:

Social enterprise growth

Charity and CIC leadership

ESG and community impact

Youth and social entrepreneurship

Women in social enterprise

Faith and community enterprise

Fundraising strategy

Public-value leadership

African and diaspora social enterprise

Governance and institutional trust

Roundtables may be open to selected membership grades or thematic groups.

Annual Recognition Event

The Society may host an annual recognition event to celebrate members, highlight social enterprise practice and strengthen the visibility of the LSSE community.

The event may include:

  • Recognition of new assessed professional members;
  • Fellow recognition;
  • Member showcases;
  • Project presentations;
  • Keynote sessions;
  • Awards or acknowledgements where approved;
  • Networking with partners, sponsors, faculty and LSSE leadership.

This event should reinforce the Society’s professional standards, not simply serve as a ceremonial event.

Leadership Council for Fellows

Fellows of Social Entrepreneurship may be invited to participate in a senior leadership council or advisory circle.

The purpose of the Fellows’ Leadership Council is to support:

  • Senior dialogue on social enterprise and public value;
  • Mentoring opportunities;
  • Thought leadership;
  • Strategic roundtables;
  • Member development;
  • Ecosystem visibility;
  • Institutional partnerships.

Participation may be by invitation and subject to LSSE Society governance rules.

Important Clarification

CPD, events and project clinics support member development. They do not automatically confer professional recognition, post-nominals, funding, donor approval, employment, investment or institutional endorsement.

Professional recognition is awarded only through the Society’s assessed membership process.
