Build the practical foundation for credible ESG delivery.
Many organisations and professionals understand that ESG matters, but struggle to translate ESG language into practical decisions, stakeholder engagement and measurable action. This certificate closes that gap by giving participants a structured introduction to ESG as an operating discipline rather than a communications exercise.
Participants examine ESG through the lens of social enterprise, sustainable economics and institutional responsibility.
Participants identify beneficiaries, funders, communities, partners, regulators and internal decision-makers.
Participants learn how to connect problem, activity, output, outcome and intended impact.
Participants receive structured guidance on how to strengthen their ESG action plan and supporting outputs.
Participants convert learning into priorities, responsibilities, timelines and review points.
Participants develop proportionate indicators that can be monitored without creating unrealistic reporting burdens.
The learning experience combines live teaching, guided exercises, templates, examples and portfolio work. It is designed for working professionals and early-stage practitioners who need clarity, structure and practical outputs without stepping away from work for an extended period.
Participants complete a foundation portfolio containing an ESG action plan, stakeholder map, theory of change, indicator table and short reflection. Completion confirms learning achievement; professional recognition through ASE-LSSE requires a separate pathway application where applicable.
The fee range is £495-£750 per learner depending on cohort model, delivery format and support level. Organisation cohorts may be priced separately. LSSE may choose to offer introductory pricing, group discounts or scholarship support in line with its admissions and aid policy.
LSSE teaches this subject within a wider framework of social enterprise, sustainable economics, leadership, governance and institutional development. The programme is designed to be practical without becoming superficial, and academically serious without becoming inaccessible. Participants are expected to leave with stronger judgement, clearer documentation and a more credible operating approach.
This certificate may support progression into ESG Impact Reporting, ESG Fundraising & Grant Readiness, LSSE Society membership or the Associate Social Entrepreneur recognition route, subject to separate criteria.
