Financing Social Ventures and Social Investment
Social ventures can be better explained as the incorporation of business skills to solve social or societal problems. An organisation with a social venture leverages its business skills to offer solutions. ‘Social Venture’ is defined as an organisation that aims to maximise its social impact alongside financial sustainability, that also has an in-depth understanding of the underlying factors related to social investment.
This course identifies a range of investing and funding approaches used by leading impact investors, investigates different financial instruments and techniques used to fund social enterprises, explores current market trends and key players of the impact investing ecosystem, as well as identifies the different components of impact measurement and exploration of appropriate social investment for social ventures.
